Picture piecing is a combination of several art forms: painting, stained glass, needlework and quilting.  Aspects of all of these were used to create a more realistic look as well as a workable, organizational method.  This is my answer to a Baltimore Album block for those of us who love to piece.  This pattern has only straight seams; there are no “set-in” angles to worry with.  It’s really not as hard as it looks.  Have fun as you explore a new technique!
