You have asked for layouts of some of the designs with this pattern. Well, here they are!
This pattern is a kick because of the infinite design possiblities, especially with color manipulation and some machine applique. Just look at the wreath, pumpkin, and of course, the butterfly's body and satin stitch antennae! The Christmas tree would be fun with little ornaments and connecting lame wedges to look like garland. And wouldn't a whole butterfly quilt be gorgeous? Also think about using lame as some of your wedges to add sparkle. I use Ultra Suede for my applique. It is so easy. And I usually birth these pieces instead of binding them because it is so much faster.
Because this is a scrap quilt, no yardage is given for any of the designs. However, 1 yard of fabric will make approximately 8 hexagons, plus and extra wedge or two. One strip of fabric 2 5/8" x 42" will yield 8 rectangles.
